I rescued Suzu from my previous apartment complex in Bristol
when she was 8 months old. Suzu was soon diagnosed of feline leukemia (ELISA and IFA confirmed). She spent one month in the
hospital with my vet while I was
trying everything possible to get her a good home (thank Cathie from the
Best Friends
Animal Society for her great help for locating all kinds of
information).
After all effort had failed, a very nice old man, Edward,
who
lived in my apartment building and also fed feral cats, told me that he
would like to adopt Suzu as his companion.
Suzu had two months of great time with Ed. Ed bought her all kinds of toys with which Suzu were still playing when she was
alive. Unfortunately, Ed became very ill in January and was in ICU since Feb. 12. He passed away on the 24th, 2005.
I decided to bring Suzu home with me instead of trying to
look for a home for her.
I had a whole great year with her. Suzu got a special room
in my place where she could jump and play. She loved to sit on the top of a 6-foot-high condo and watched everybody. She also
loved to cuddle in her bed in the afternoon for
a nap. Her favorite sport was playing pingpong. She played pingpong like
hockey.
Suzu always stood behind the door waiting for me to feed her during meal time. In fact, she had very strict routine that she
insisted I brushed her before snack time at night. She would lie very well on the floor,
waiting to be brushed when I brought
her food in.
I always believe that Suzu is a very special child that God brought to Ed
and then me. As Ed always said,
"I have a reason to live because of Suzu."
I believe that his "Susie girl" (Ed was not able to pronounce "Suzu") is
with
him happily in the universe somewhere as he decided to bring Suzu back to him exactly one year after he left.
