Success Stories

Tasha, a purebred Persian, was found in a feral cat colony. She was emaciated, matted, covered in fleas and ear mites, and one of her claws was ingrown. After she was rescued, she spent two weeks at the vet getting healthy. Mandy found her listed on PetFinder and sent in an application. Mandy and her husband drove from Wilmington to Greensboro (about 4 hours) to meet Tasha. It was instant love! After Tasha moved in to her new home, she became queen of the house.

We adopted Autumn last spring – she’s doing great and has perked up our ‘voluptuous’ older, large, cat. She has a new name that seems to fit her very well after coming out of her shell and taking over the house. Rococo – ‘Coco’ for short. Thanks for everything, we absolutely adore her! Carla

Hi!!! My name is Trina, I was one of FCAP's Katrina Kitties.  That's how my new Mom got my name.  I just love my new home, especially Sam my new friend.  As you can see he really adores me.

One of my favorite things to do, is sit on my Mom's lap and get lot's of loving

This is Misty with her new Mom.  She was found in a Feral Colony with a horrific injury to her front leg.  It had been mangled and when it healed, it was wrapped around her neck.  We took her to the Vet's where they had to amputate the leg.  Ms. Barrett saw her as Fox 8 Pet of the Week, where she fell in love.
Misty was delivered to her new home and just made herself the queen bee.

We can close the book on Daisy, we now belong to her!! She has turned into a very loving kitten and we are so happy to have her in our lives. She interacts with us on a daily basis, follows us around, plays with her toys and approaches us on her own to be petted and scratched. She eats well and lets us know when she wants to be held and brushed (she still loves to be brushed). She has really come a long way in such a short amount of time but luckily we had the time and patience to help her along.

I'm grateful for your organization and want to especially thank Merle for taking care of Daisy as her foster mother. The information Merle furnished to us helped us understand Daisy's background and helped us know how to handle her.

Thanks again.

My name is Panda Sherrard.  I am 1.5 yrs old and I live in Greensboro with my wonderful family (Mom Diane, Dad David and “Sister” Abby).  I was abandoned on the side of the road with my sisters in the fall of 2003.  Luckily, a friend at FCAP took me in and cared for me.  Then I was lucky enough to be chosen by Santa to be a Christmas present for my best friend Abby!

As you can see, some of my favorite hobbies are:  lounging in the sink, reading children’s books, and watching TV (I love that Connie the Cow show on Noggin!).  My friend Abby does a good job feeding me, playing with me, and petting me.  My favorite toy is the feather on a stick…. If you don’t have one, tell your owner to run out and buy one… It’s the greatest!  I hope all my fellow kitties can get a great family like the one I found…..
