Please read the following very important Policy that has been adopted for Spay Day

Policy For Kittens At The Spay Day Clinics

The primary purpose of the Spay Day Clinic is to safely, efficiently and expeditiously sterilize feral cats while complying with the laws of the state of North Carolina regarding rabies vaccination of animals.

Kittens must be 12- weeks of age and weigh 3- pounds to be sterilized at the Spay day Clinic. In the event a caregiver traps a kitten and that animal does not meet this criteria, sterilization services will not be rendered at the Spay Day Clinic. The caregiver will need to decide if he or she is capable of safely housing the kitten until the animal does meet the criteria for surgery or if he or she should release the kitten and re- trap the animal at a later date. It is highly recommended that caregivers optimize their trapping efforts by focusing upon trapping the adult cats in their colony and focusing upon the kitten population as the animal becomes age and weight appropriate for surgery.
